So I experimented this weekend and ended up making the cutest hair flowers ever!! They can be made any color of sheer for any occasion, my occasion in particular is my daughters baptism coming up! I made the cutest white flower, and ended up making multiple colored flowers!!

So I decided they were so cute I decided to sale them!! Im selling them for $3.50 each, I hate when you go shopping and find the cutest flowers for hair and they are soo over priced, especially when they dont cost hardly anything to make them!! So get them now cuz they are going fast!!

**NoT so bad "cOOk" anymOre!**

So to begin, everyone knows that I am horrible when it comes to baking/cooking chocolate chip cookies! For some reason they are always flat.. I hear "add more flower, move your rack up/down, try having your house colder..." every trick I have tried! Well I came across this blog http://www.dana-made-it.com/  with a delicious "HOW TO" on chocolate chip cookies. She promised this recipe "NEVER FAILS" and so I took her word for it! Well low and behold!... Guess what! MY COOKIES WERE PERFECT! (I recommend you all go check out her page! She does some really fun stuff!) Dont we all think its only fair to "share" a good recipe when we find one!! So, here we go......

Ingredients! (makes about 6 dozen cookies..)

1 Cup Vegetable Shortening
1 Cup Butter (don't use margarine)
1 1/2 cups White Sugar
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp Vanilla

5 3/4 to 6 cups Flour (if the cookies feel flat, use 6 cups)
1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp Salt

1 bags choc chips (12 oz bags) - 1 semi-sweet guittard chocolate chips (I never tried these kind before. My husband took a bite of cookie dough and spit the choc. chips out.. (not surprising by his picky eating habits) but once the cookies came out of the oven he couldnt keep out of them and actually liked the MELTED chocolate chips.. So who knows..... Id like to hear what you all think of them.

***There are three key points in this recipe***
1. Use shortening and butter. I know some of you are going to replace the shortening with butter, and I won't hold it against you. But the shortening is what gives the cookie a slight crispness around the edges while still feeling soft inside.

So, start by mixing the shortening and butter with white and brown sugar. Add the three eggs and vanilla and here's the second key point....

2. Mix the buttery/egg mixture for a full THREE minutes. The time is important for the eggs and butter to become fully whipped and to develop new chemistry. You'll watch the buttery mix go from gushy liquid to beautiful cream:

In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients together (flour, baking soda, and salt). Add 1/2 of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix. Then add the other 1/2 and mix.
And finally....

3. Use a lot of good chocolate chips and mix semi-sweet with milk chips.
Some recipes call for one bag of chocolate chips.

They had a brilliant idea about the left over cookie dough. (that is if you dont cook the whole 6 dozen) Roll them into balls on a flat surface and place in freezer for about 20 minutes. After stick them in a container until next time! (Why couldnt I ever thought of that)...!

Ready for the oven!

Do you see that?? FluFF? Cuz I sure do!! SUCCESS!

end table

So turquoise must be the color of the week, it seems we all have a urge for some turquoise in our lives! I am just putting a hint of it in my living room and kitchen!! This project was a end table I inherited from my sista Tera!! I sanded it and painted it, then instead of sanding to distress it, I used my stampin up stamp pad and did the corners, it turned out cute, and totally easy!! Then I glazed it with an almost black glaze to give it some more distressed look!! It is my new piece of favorite furniture!!

Night Stand

this is a nightstand my sister cami gave me I decided to repaint but keep it close to the same color!! I used acrylic paint color: linen, and distressed it, then I glazed it with a dark stain. I kept the same knobs my sister had I liked them and will probably eventually change them but it turned out cute!!

This is my nightstand done! Im really excited to refinish the other nightstand to match this one! I will post it when I get it done!

Jewelry Holders!

I seen these jewelry holders at a few different stores, they are so cute and seem like such a good use of space! The only thing was, is they wanted almost 50 bucks for them!! As I said before I am cheap. My sister and I decided to make our own! It cost us maybe 1/3 (maybe a little more) the price for them! I love how they turned out I still need to find some knobs to put on the bottom to hold my necklaces I just cant find the PERFECT ones yet!  Depending on what you decide to decorate on them depends on how expensive they turn out! Not bad for a first try...!

~The turquoise shelf!

Ok so I have to admit, I loved this shelf how it was before! (Thanks to my sis Tasha for giving it to me!) But I had to change it to match my stuff! So I painted it with (Krylon) blue ocean breeze! And I glazed it pretty dark! I LOVE it!!!

Tried out my prop with my daughter:)

*My First ChAir!*

I bought this chair at a local thrift store here in town.. I debated on what color to do. I have been trying to add color in my house a little since I have been on a black kick the last 2 years of my life. So, I ended up doing it a mustard yellow.. After putting the glaze on my chair, (thank you Tera for glazing it for me) it made the cushion match NOT-SO-MUCH.. Do I start over, or leave it? Its gonna stay this way for now. I have to many projects I want to get done!
